Shoreline Murder: Police Link to Notorious Gang

COLOMBO (News 1st); A body with gunshot wounds was discovered on the Morganwatta shoreline in Uswetakeiyawa.

Sri Lanka Police believe that the shooting was carried out by Dubai Kalana, an associate of Keselbaddera Padme, who is suspected of being involved in the assassination of Ganemulle Sanjeewa.

The deceased has been identified as 40-year-old Ayoshanta Bopayaarachchi, a resident of Kadawatha.

Police suspect that the individual was shot last night, and the incident was captured on a nearby CCTV camera.

Near the body, authorities found nine empty bullet casings and a live round from a T56 firearm.
