Domestic Harvests Sufficient for Festive Season, Says Deputy Minister

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Agriculture says that there is no requirement to import other essential food items, despite a pre-arrangement for the importation of rice for the festive season 

Deputy Minister Namal Karunaratne stated that the food items required for the festive season can be supplied from domestic harvests.

He added that the government will take the necessary steps to prevent consumers from facing any inconvenience.
